History of Our Locality

The village of Bujor was first mentioned in documents in 1489, when it appeared as a border reference in the charter of Stephen the Great. Over the centuries, the settlement underwent significant transformations: the development of religious, educational, and economic infrastructure, hosting diverse ethnic communities and forming trade and cultural routes that shaped its regional identity.

    The peony is mentioned in the Charter of Stephen the Great regarding the estates of Boghiceni, Lăpușna, Petricani, Dragomirești.

    Construction of the wooden church
    The construction of the church dedicated to the 'Holy Voivodes Archangels Michael and Gabriel', a spiritual landmark for the community.
  • 1814
    Settlement of Bulgarian colonists
    47 Bulgarian families (206 people) arrive in the village, contributing to ethnic diversity and the development of agriculture.
  • 1874
    The founding of the first public school
    The opening of the school where 45 children studied marked the beginning of formal education in Bujor.
